Beijer Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of human machine interface (HMI) terminals, is excited to announce the new iX T15BR, a rugged 15” terminal with specifications and certifications for most indoor and outdoor environments.

The iX T15BR is designed to operate in extreme temperatures -30 to 70 °C, in high vibration/shock situations, and where water and dust are present. The terminal carries hazardous area certifications (UL Class I Division 2, ATEX and IECEx) for use in oil & gas, chemical, mining, water/wastewater, and similar environments. In addition, the terminal carries marine certifications (ABS, DNV, GL and LR) recognized around the world for use on ships, offshore rigs and other maritime applications.

“The iX T15BR was a natural complement to our line of rugged terminals we have engineered and sold over the last thirty years. This terminal is designed and certified to operate reliably in the most inhospitable environments where our customers’ machinery is located,” said Bob Mullins, Industrial Product Manager at Beijer Electronics, Inc.

In North America, Beijer Electronics is best known for its QTERM line of rugged products. The iX T15BR extends the iX TxB operator panel line by offering a rugged alternative. Like the rest of the iX TxA/B/C product lines, the iX T15BR includes the powerful iX run-time software. The user-friendly iX Developer software features drivers and servers (OPC UA, web) to communicate with most of your automation equipment. In addition, iX offers enhanced HMI functionality such as recipes, tags, trends and alarms, scalable vector-based graphics, and an open platform with .NET controls, C# scripting, SQL connectivity and WPF graphics.

The iX T15BR terminal features a 15” TFT, 1280x800 pixel, color display (optional 1000 cd/m2 for sunlight readability), Intel® Atom processor, two Ethernet, two serial, three USB and two optional CAN ports for connectivity to all of your equipment. With the temperature range -30 to 70 °C and sealing NEMA-4 / IP66 / UL 50E Type 4 (outdoor), the terminal can operate inside or outside with confidence. The hazardous certifications (UL Class I Division 2, ATEX Zone 2 and IECEx Zone 2) and marine classification societies’ (ABS, DNV, GL and LR) certifications (some pending), extend the applications for the iX T15BR.
