Polar V800, the new triathlon watch, and the Polar Loop activity band can now work with Android phones thanks to a brand new update to the Polar Flow app says the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"This is big news because for so long now Polar products have only been usable with iPhone and now they can wireless sync to Android phones", says Rusty Squire, president of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "At an estimated 72 million Android phones in the US alone this is a big deal".
The V800 are the new Bluetooth enabled triathlon watches that measures all major data for swimming, running and cycling. "Polar V800 will be the biggest selling product of the year for Polar and to have it now be compatible with Android phones will only increase sales", says Squire.
"So many younger people these days don't even us a PC, they are all on notepads and Smartphones, which means you have to be able to transfer data without a USB in most cases", says Squire.
Polar Loop is the new activity band that tracks sleep, steps, activity and even heart rate. "Up until now iPhone has been your only option for the Loop besides a PC, but now, thanks to the Polar Flow app upgrade, Android phone users can use the Loop", says Squire.
"Without a doubt the future of Polar products are invested in Bluetooth and the Polar Flow app", says Squire. He adds, "I would anticipate that all their new product introductions going forward are going to operate on this platform".
"Polar has invested for decade in Human Performance Lab results and adjusting their technology based upon testing", says Squire. He adds, "In terms of data like calories and heart rate variability, they have the rest of the product purveyors beaten soundly".
