Cadwell is committed to providing innovative products in the field of Intraoperative Monitoring. Consistent with this continued commitment, the company has announced that, for business and financial reasons, it is exiting a sub-segment of this market, specifically lateral transpsoas monitoring, and will focus solely on monitoring of other procedures. In order to facilitate this move, the company has released Cascade version 2.7 software. Support of Cascade version 2.6 and Cascade version 2.6SP1 will be discontinued, except as noted below. In order to effectuate Cadwell’s exit of the market for monitoring of lateral transpsoas procedures, Cascade version 2.7 disables the automated nerve threshold detection lateral approach module of versions 2.6 and 2.6SP1, while preserving the ability to read historical lateral approach patient files. Cascade version 2.7 also addresses several minor bugs that have been identified since the previous release. Cadwell strongly encourages customers to upgrade to Cascade version 2.7 today.
Cadwell’s intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring software and products are not intended for intraoperative lateral transpsoas monitoring that employs automated methods of nerve threshold detection (“ILTM applications”). Cadwell disclaims all use of its intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring software and related products for any use for ILTM applications. With the exception of support that Cadwell may have a legal and ethical obligation to provide, Cadwell does not support or provide assistance for any use of its intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring software and products for ILTM applications. The use of Cadwell’s intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring software and products for ILTM applications is not recommended and at the user’s own risk.
