TOPICS Entertainment is Sponsoring The Flashcard—a Blog for Second Language Educators
Renton, WA (PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- TOPICS Entertainment is pleased to announce its sponsorship of The Flashcard http://www.theflashcard.org, a blog created for teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages and World Languages. The chief contributor and editor will be Don Gibb. Mr. Gibb brings a wealth of experience as a learner of Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), ESOL and Special Education teacher, businessman, entrepreneur and writer. The last few years, Mr. Gibb has been employed or consultant for a few key ed tech publishers in the digital language learning space. The blog will have a digital learning technology focus and contain insights, news, events and resources related to the learning and the teaching of new languages. Guest writers are also welcome to submit proposals for topics related to language teaching and technology.
“Low-tech paper flashcards have been a part of my own personal study of Chinese characters and also proved a useful activity for my ESL students to memorized vocabulary,” said Mr. Gibb. “My first blog entry goes over my own experience using flashcards and is the reason The Flashcard seemed like an appropriate title for my blog.”
The Flashcard seeks to be a useful repository for ESL and Foreign Language educators from the K-12, higher education, corporate trainers and other organizations. Future topics will include insider information into digital language learning technologies, flipped learning and increasing class participation.
The Flashcard welcomes guest blogger proposals, press releases and event announcements related to language education for possible publication.
