Arador, a company specializing in cloud security solutions announced today the launch of its new service CloudPatrol for businesses using SaaS solutions that store customer data in the cloud.
CloudPatrol alerts businesses when theft and misuse of mailing lists and other customer data occurs.

Arador's research shows incidence of theft and misuse of customer data is widespread, citing a recent case where an insider stole valuable email lists from their employer and set up a competing online business, Sculthorpe said “the losses are significant, the affected company had its reputation damaged and suffered financial losses, in this case we tracked down the shady employee and sent our client a revealing report.”
Sculthorpe added, “the problem isn't always on the client side, incidents also occur on the SaaS business side and in between, moving to the cloud often comes with many benefits that we endorse wholeheartedly but it can also increases security risks significantly.”
“CloudPatrol's role as an independent monitoring service ensures businesses get to know when email lists and customer data has been stolen and misused, it's their crown jewels and the data should be protected as such,” Sculthorpe said.
This isn't Mr. Sculthorpe's first time developing online security services, he has 19 years security consulting experience helping investment banking, corporate, military and government clients. In 2004 he successfully pioneered click fraud detection systems and software helping bring about significant changes in the online advertising space, he intends to repeat that success at Arador.
When asked “What types of businesses benefit from CloudPatrol?” Mr. Sculthorpe replied “any business using SaaS solutions that store customer data in the cloud, automated marketing services like HubSpot and Marketo are a couple of examples, customer acquisition is expensive, it needs to be protected and monitored, we're also working directly with SaaS businesses.”
