yurbuds® Supports Running Community with Sponsored Boston Team and Donation to the Challenged Athletes Foundation
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- yurbuds®, a company deeply rooted in the running community, celebrated racers returning to the 2014 Boston starting line with a team of sponsored athletes and an interactive booth for all race attendees. With live video testimonials, t-shirt giveaways and exclusive Boston product benefitting charity, the booth attracted thousands of runners who gathered together to honor those impacted last year.
Throughout the race weekend, the yurbuds team raised more than $5,000 from sales of yurbuds Boston Special Edition sport earphones to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation, a supporter of the Boston Marathon and benefactor of prosthetics to many of last year's victims. With nearly 15,000 booth attendees, the yurbuds team also distributed 1,300 Boston Strong t-shirts and collected more than 500 videos of #neverstopboston stories from race participants. The live interviews detailed the various hurdles each runner overcame and their excitement to stand at the 2014 starting line.
“We are humbled to honor and give back to fellow members of the running community,” said Daniel DeVille, Director of Marketing for yurbuds. “We want to thank all of the runners who shared their personal stories with us, and look forward to sharing their inspiration with others.”
Through yurbuds, the #neverstop athletes had the opportunity to return to Boston and finish the race they started in 2013. They were at the booth to share their stories of perseverance with others. Runners included Erica Nash, a marathoner with cerebral palsy, Julie Benson, elementary school guidance counselor who ran last year’s race to raise funds for Sandy Hook Elementary School PTA, Ginger Cross, creator of the Boston Strong Facebook page and Ryan Polly, creator of a race in his hometown to raise funds for bombing victims.
For those unable to attend Boston 2014, yurbuds Special Edition Boston product is still available for purchase at specialty running stores. Visit yurbuds.com to locate your pair. Proceeds from sales continue to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
