By implementing the Explorys platform and becoming a part of its growing network, we will gain deeper insights into our patient population that will enhance our ability to transform the process of care.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 28, 2014

Explorys, the leader in big data-driven healthcare transformation, today announced that OhioHealth, a family of not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals and healthcare organizations serving the central Ohio region, has selected the Explorys Platform and its suite of cloud-based analytics solutions to support several critical programs. OhioHealth, a Columbus-based health system that includes a network of 12 member hospitals and over 25 provider organizations with more than 28,000 associates, physicians and volunteers, will implement Explorys’ big data platform to support its ongoing population health and patient-centered care initiatives, and to foster enhanced physician alignment across the enterprise.

OhioHealth selected Explorys’ big data analytics platform because of its ability to measure and analyze massive amounts of clinical, financial, and operational data. Specifically, OhioHealth sought a partner to help provide additional data and insight into: quality measurement, its patient-centered analytics model, and the ability for OhioHealth to leverage its data to provide proactive patient engagement.

“With Explorys, we will improve our ability to identify and normalize variations in care, introduce a speed of development that mirrors our thirst for analytics and leverage an architecture that can be the base intelligence framework for our organization,” says Michael Krouse, Senior Vice President and CIO, OhioHealth. “By implementing the Explorys platform and becoming a part of its growing network, we will gain deeper insights into our patient population that will enhance our ability to transform the process of care.”

“Provider organizations are increasingly embracing risk-based payment models, and they require solutions that not only provide a greater understanding of population health, but allow them to predict and act on new opportunities to improve care,” said Charlie Lougheed, President and Chief Strategy Officer, Explorys. “This partnership with OhioHealth is yet another example of how Explorys is working with its customers to lead the way in improving quality and decreasing the cost of care.”

OhioHealth will be implementing the Explorys Platform and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Application Suite, a set of SaaS-based applications that enable rapid population health management, measurement, and engagement.

Originally inspired by physicians and informatics leaders, Explorys combines the most powerful healthcare-computing platform in the world with turnkey solutions for clinical integration, at-risk population management, cost of care measurement, and pay-for-performance solutions. Explorys’ cloud-based platform is serving 19 integrated healthcare systems, 310 hospitals, and over 220,000 providers to identify patterns in diseases, treatments, and outcomes.
