AIS Virtual Conference Will Provide Broad Overview of Issues Effecting Insurers on Public Exchanges
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- Atlantic Information Services, Inc. (AIS), publisher of Inside Health Insurance Exchanges and Health Plan Week, is pleased to announce the full agenda for its upcoming virtual conference, “Public Exchanges: Translating Lessons Learned Into Insurer Strategies for 2015.” Led by many of the nation’s top thought leaders from high-profile companies such as Milliman, Deloitte, Leavitt Partners, Connect for Health Colorado, eHealth, Molina Healthcare, Independence Blue Cross, Venable and Medica, this May 6 program is AIS’s second annual virtual conference on the newly launched marketplaces. The full-day virtual conference will offer a “big picture” assessment of recent events and the resulting strategies that could be implemented for next year, discuss why Web-broker entities are poised to be a game changer for health insurers participating on public exchanges, examine how carriers are designing, pricing and promoting their exchange-based products for 2015, and assess how the “3Rs” are working and what’s likely to change.
The virtual conference’s four sessions are:
- 11:15 – 12:45: “The Big Picture for Insurers” — In the virtual conference’s lead-off session, three experienced national observers of reform implementation will offer a “big picture” assessment of recent events and the resulting strategies they recommend for 2015.
- 1:00 – 2:00: “Web-Broker Entities and Their Impending Impact on the Sale of Public Exchange Products” — A leading health insurance attorney, an executive from a leading online marketplace for individual and family health insurance products, and an executive from a health care technology consulting firm will describe what health plans need to know about WBEs and how they should be integrated into evolving sales strategies.
- 2:15 – 3:45: “Applying Lessons Learned: Designing, Pricing and Selling Insurance Products” — Three health plan executives from large and small insurance companies participating on state-run and federally facilitated exchanges will provide valuable perspectives on product design, pricing and sales. What did they learn from the first year? What are they planning to do differently for the year ahead?
- 4:00 – 5:00: “Reinsurance, Risk Corridors and Risk Adjustment (the ‘3Rs’): Strategies for Mitigating Health Plan Risk” — An elite team of Milliman actuaries will provide practical insights on the permanent and temporary risk mitigation programs established under the ACA and summarize the most important changes ahead for carriers.
Additionally, each session will conclude with generous time allocated to answering participants’ questions.
AIS’s virtual conference allows participants to attend a live conference without having to travel to a meeting site. Plus, the registration fee includes a free On-Demand recording of each session, so any agenda items can be reviewed at a later time.
