Announcement: BluesGuitar.com releases “Blues Lead Playing with Pentatonic Scales - Blues Guitar Lesson - Part 4”
(PRWEB) April 28, 2014 -- “We’re working on our pentatonic scales and associating them with the chords and working it out across the fret board,” says MacLennan. “This is pattern number four.”
Jon demonstrates this scale pattern as follows; 12th fret of the 6th string with first finger to the 15th fret with 4th finger, 12th fret of the 5th string with first finger to 14th fret 3rd finger, 12th fret 4th string with first finger to 14th fret 3rd finger, 12th fret 3rd string with first finger to 14th fret 3rd finger, 13th fret 2nd string with 2nd finger to 15th fret 4th finger and 13th fret first string with 2nd finger to 15th fret 4th finger. “That’s the scale ascending,” says MacLennan. “You need to practice it descending as well.” Jon says that this scale is associated with the C Major chord bared at the 12th fret, which is great for B.B. King Blues licks. Jon demonstrates this chord as baring his first finger across the 12th fret of the first three strings and then placing his 2nd finger on the 14th fret of the 2nd string, 3rd finger on the 14th fret of the 4th string and 4th finger on the 15th fret of the 5th string. Jon continues this easy blues lesson by demonstrating some blues phrases using this scale. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy beginner blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
