Triple S Navigator #62 Perisept Sporicidal Disinfectant Cleaner Kills C.diff Spores in Two Minutes

Healthcare facilities now have access to a daily-use sporicidal disinfectant cleaner with broad spectrum kill claims and more compatibility to many surfaces than bleach.

SSS Navigator #62 Perisept Sporicidal Disinfectant Cleaner is now available through all Triple S dealers. This new EPA registered sporicidal disinfectant cleans and kills a broad spectrum of bacteria and organisms, including Clostridium difficile (C.diff) in just 2 minutes -- one of the most difficult spores to kill and control in healthcare. The 2-minute claim is the fastest kill claim against C.diff in the industry. C.diff is linked to thousands of deaths each year according to reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and remains one of the industries toughest healthcare acquired infections (HAIs) to control.

“SSS Navigator #62 Perisept Sporicidal Disinfectant Concentrate gives administration, EVS departments and infection preventionist a new weapon to battle HAIs. The quick 2-minute kill time assures healthcare professionals that the surface remains wet and the disinfectant is doing what it is required,” said Alan Sadler, company president, “Healthcare facilities can now use one disinfectant cleaner for use throughout the facility.”

It has been noted that the longer the time required to kill a pathogen on a surface, the more chance for a disinfectant to dry on the surface, and be rendered ineffective. When used as directed, healthcare personnel can be assured that SSS Navigator #62 Sporicidal Disinfectant Concentrate in-use dilution remains wet for the required two-minutes. Disinfectants with longer kill claims are subject to drying on the surface before the required kill time.

More Economical Concentrate
SSS Navigator #62 Perisept is designed for use with the closed loop Navigator Dilution Control System – available in 4-station, single station and portable dispensing units. Closed loop dispensing minimizes contact with the concentrate. The easy to follow numbering and color-coded labeling simplifies training for EVS departments. The high 1:32 dilution rate offers customers a lower end-use cost making it affordable for use as a daily cleaner, in addition to cleaning operating rooms, isolation rooms and post discharge. Standardizing to one disinfectant cleaner reduces training challenges, potential confusion, and the number of chemicals stored in the supply closet.

Superior Material and Surface Compatibility
The non-bleach, hydrogen peroxide/peroxyacetic acid based formulation leaves no harmful or corrosive residues, and no undesirable film on surfaces. SSS Navigator #62 Perisept is compatible with many different surfaces and medical equipment used in healthcare including stainless steel, aluminum, chrome, glazed ceramic tile, plastic and painted surfaces, and finished floors. Unlike bleach-based products, it will not corrode metal or damage mattress covers, and requires no rinsing.

Many healthcare facilities have been challenged with battling HAIs. Up until now, the most common solution to disinfecting and cleaning environmental surfaces has been a two-step process that incorporated bleach-based chemistry. It is widely accepted that bleach, not only has an unpleasant odor and damages uniforms and fabric, but it also damages a broad number of surfaces including medical equipment.
