A recent study conducted by call tracking leader, Century Interactive, found the most detrimental problem facing dental offices today is poor phone skills. After surveying inbound calls from hundreds of dental offices across the country, they found most offices are missing out on a significant number of opportunities to book appointments and bring in new patients.
Unanswered calls, the biggest factor in missed opportunities, were found to be the result of a busy office and poor phone skills. Century Interactive found that a large portion of callers were placed on extremely long holds when trying to reach someone who is ultimately unavailable. This, coupled with shaky knowledge of proper phone skills, makes for a huge loss in business.
The study uncovered many other shocking statistics as well. The good news? There is a ton of room for improvement and many dental practices have already discovered how to improve phone handling skills and save missed opportunities.
