ConteXtream to Speak at the 2014 Ethernet Technology Summit
Mountain View, Calif. (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- ConteXtream, a leading provider of carrier-grade network virtualization solutions, today announced that Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream, will speak at the 2014 Ethernet Technology Summit. As a part of the emerging technologies track, Barkai’s presentation entitled “SDN Overlays: Possibilities and Implications,” will provide a technical overview of software-defined networking (SDN) overlays and how they can be leveraged on service provider networks.
Faced with the most challenging and competitive environment yet, and due to network traffic continuing to increase, service providers have begun looking to SDN to both alleviate current pain points and prepare their network for future needs. In this session, Barkai will discuss how SDN overlays can be leveraged on networks to scale simplified IP and Ethernet underlay cores and make it feature-rich to connect, separate millions of endpoints based on identity-profile, purpose, and conditions. A range of use cases will be presented to explain how distributed SDN overlay edges solve in production mobile packet core, and large scale dynamic virtual private networks at carrier scale without static and complex configuration.
WHO: Speakers participating in the “Forum 2A: Ethernet and Software-Defined Networking, Part 1” section of the emerging solutions track include Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream, and executives from Ciena, Luxoft, Napatech, Queen’s University Belfast, SolarWinds and Spirent Communications. Forum 2A will be chaired by Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder of Infonetics Research, and Nabil Damouny, director of strategic marketing at Netronome.
