TheHopeLine and Liberty University Partner to Offer Hope to a Generation in Crisis
Spring Hill, TN (PRWEB) April 01, 2014 -- Dawson McAllister Association (DMA) announced today that it has established a partnership with Liberty University where third and fourth year Liberty University students offer hope and assistance to teenagers and young adults in crisis.
Dave Anderson, Director of Rescue for DMA, long-time provider of TheHopeLine.com says, “Liberty University is a widely known and respected Christian university that is committed to training Champions for Christ through their challenging, Christ-centered academics, expert faculty and commitment to engage and influence culture throughout the world.” Anderson expounded on the partnership by offering, “TheHopeLine is in a unique position to train Liberty University students on how to engage a generation in crisis, offering the message of hope and healing. Partnering with Liberty allows us to reach more people who are seeking help with a variety of critical issues. Furthermore, we are able to provide any student desiring to make counseling a career, an opportunity to have real-world, hands-on experience for where their career path may take them.”
Liberty University students are trained and managed by staff from TheHopeLine. The student’s interactions with callers and chatters are monitored by TheHopeLine ensuring that a consistent message of hope and healing is heard by all. These students offer the callers and chatters they engage with the same partnerships and resources offered by staff and volunteers of TheHopeLine. Anderson continues, “These students are willing to serve while they are in school, attending classes through the week and serving with us on the weekends. Many times they do not have the opportunity to go to bed on a Sunday evening until well after midnight. Keep in mind, after their shift ends, they may still have studies to complete and exams to prepare for the next day. These students are truly giving of themselves at a time in their lives when time is at a premium. We are very thankful to have them as part of our team.”
Dr. Lew Weider, Director of Liberty University’s Center for Christian/Community Service adds, “TheHopeLine provides Liberty University students the unique opportunity to minister one-on-one with teens around the country while gaining practical experience and skills which will help them in their future.”
