The image technology company YAY Media AS, which operates the stock photo marketplace yayimages.com, launched their celebrity offering on Wednesday, giving their growing customer base access to almost 1 million red carpet images. YAY, which earlier this year launched a new way to license images, called “streaming”, announced the new collection at a gathering for startups in Oslo, Norway, on Wednesday.

This makes yayimages.com the pre-eminent website for bloggers worldwide”, CEO and co-founder Linda L. Johannessen said. “There’s no website in the world that can match the combination of our technology, image offering and offensive pricing.

The new collection comes in addition to the over 4 million creative stock images the company already offers, and makes them a serious player in the very competitive online stock photo market.

“This makes yayimages.com the pre-eminent website for bloggers worldwide,” CEO and co-founder Linda L. Johannessen said. “There’s no website in the world that can match the combination of our technology, image offering and offensive pricing, and with this expansion of content, we’re getting closer to our goal of covering all image needs for bloggers.”

The collection covers red carpet images, mainly from Hollywood, over the last decade and covers all major red carpet events, including the Academy Awards, Grammy and Emmy Awards. “If you need an image of Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Brad Pitt or Selena Gomez, we got it,” Johannessen continues.

With over 250 million blogs in existence, of which a growing number is either commercial blogs run by companies or actual businesses in themselves, the market YAY aims at has a huge potential. “We believe that a growing percentage of blogs understand the need for visual content, and with an increased focus on copyright and piracy, also the need for legal content. We provide that,” the company writes on its website. A large percentage of the world’s most popular blogs has specialized on celebrity content.

“Adding high-quality images has shown to increase traffic, lower bounce-rates and boost the number of returning readers,” Johannessen says. “Getting access to unlimited images for just $9.99 is a great investment for any serious blogger.”
