BenchMark Physical Therapy's Orthopaedic Residency Program Earns Accreditation
Ooltewah, Tenn. (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- BenchMark Rehab Partners is proud to announce their Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program received accreditation by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). The program prepares physical therapists to take the exam to become board certified in orthopaedics, which studies show leads to better results, faster.
“This accreditation is the highest validation for a post-professional program and means that our program is delivering the highest level of education in orthopaedics,” says Derek Clewley, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, Residency Program Director. “Our residents receive the benefit of one-to-one time with a board certified, Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS) mentor, as well as a blended learning format that includes hands-on training and online elements. Together, these work to develop clinical reasoning and knowledge, and prepare them to take the exam to become board certified specialists.”
BenchMark’s program currently serves 20 residents and will begin the new cohort in July with 27 residents across three states, making it the largest in-house program in the country.
“Having the support of BenchMark Rehab Partners has allowed us to really pull together some of the best minds and resources into creating this program,” continued Clewley. “We are proud of this latest accomplishment of achieving accredited status and have high expectations on where our residents will take their training in the future as they become leaders and influencers in the physical therapy profession.”
