The Totara team will be on hand at the upcoming ASTD International Conference and Expo, to demonstrate the latest version of TotaraLMS, an open source learning management system for the corporate sector based on Moodle, the world’s most popular LMS.

“Totara LMS is a custom distribution of Moodle with all of the support, enhancements, updates and services that corporates need, yet still retaining all of the advantages of ‘open source’ such as a much lower cost than licensed alternatives,” explains Willem Boom, Vice President, Totara LMS.

TotaraLMS is ready-made extended version of the standard Moodle product. It has its own particular focus for the corporate sector but retains its part in the overall Moodle framework and is kept it in-step with Moodle versions.

TotaraLMS 2.6 includes all of the features that Moodle users are familiar with along with custom enhancements for the corporate sector, including: hierarchy and competency framework mapping; collaborative individual learning plans; enhanced program, team, classroom and performance management features; and enterprise application integration for applications such as SAP and PeopleSoft.

In March Totara announced its support for the Open Badges, a Mozilla-backed initiative to recognize and verify skills, the first learning management system to announce its support for Open Badges, and the team will be demonstrating this and the other new features of TotaraLMS 2.6 throughout the three-day event.
