Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Appoints Charles Russo as President
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH), an ENR 500 firm, appointed Charles Russo as the firm’s new President. As President, Mr. Russo will primarily focus on managing SGH’s business operations. He joins an executive team led by Glenn Bell, Chief Executive Officer of SGH. Mr. Bell will continue to lead the firm’s growth strategy, business development efforts, and client relations as the firm expands its client base geographically and through new services.
“SGH is experiencing an exciting time of growth and transition,” said Mr. Bell. “Charlie’s addition to our executive team will help us maintain our high expectations for quality service and technical development.”
Since 2000, SGH has tripled in size and expanded to new offices in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, and Southern California. SGH is also executing a generational transition of ownership, leadership, and management that current leaders planned over the last decade. In 2013, SGH transitioned in a new Chief Financial Officer and a new executive leader for its Building Technology Group.
“Charlie’s promotion is a significant step for SGH’s transition. We look forward to his contributions,” said Dean Rutila, SGH’s Chairman of the Board of Directors. “We are also privileged to have Glenn’s ongoing leadership as CEO.”
Mr. Russo succeeds Thomas Schwartz, who will focus on his role as 2014 Chairman of the Board of Directors for ASTM International. Mr. Schwartz remains with SGH as a Senior Principal.
Mr. Russo earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and his M.S. in Structural Engineering at Tufts University. Charlie will continue to lead technical assignments and provide consulting services to his clients.
