Go Natural CNG One Step Closer to Mass-market Adoption of Natural Gas Powered Transportation
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- Compressed natural gas vehicle product developer Go Natural CNG has launched the next generation of its Light Duty Fuel Interface Module (FIM). This new FIM integrates components necessary for a high-pressure natural gas vehicle conversion into a single, high-pressure manifold. The improved design incorporates all the benefits of Go Natural’s original FIM while adding some new conveniences.
One of the benefits of the redesigned FIM is that it brings the module into compliance with the National Fire Protection Association’s code 52-2013. This manifold integrates a controlled-flow defueling/depressurization valve, which can easily connect to a vent stack or capture system using a defueling hose. “As the nation’s leading natural gas transportation technology company, it is important to us that our products comply with NFPA and related safety codes,” says Go Natural CNG’s CEO Lucas Kjar. For more details, visit the company’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
Other benefits of the new FIM design include optional mounting holes for more discretion in installation points and a decrease in overall product dimensions, for improved installation in vehicles with limited space and ground clearance. “There’s no question in my mind that Compressed Natural Gas is the affordable fuel of the future,” says Fury Zaidi, President of Natural Gas Vehicles Texas, “and innovative technologies like Go Natural CNG’s FIM make it an easier and more affordable reality than ever before.”
Like the original FIM design, the redesigned product combines a coalescing filter, quarter turn valve, pressure gauge, check valve, and electronic pressure sensor. The FIM is factory leak and proof tested. The FIM’s symmetrical design and spare ports with clearly marked laser engravings aid in easy installation and system assembly. It also includes an analog pressure gauge so technicians can verify the system depressurization before servicing, and provides sufficient engine fuel flow for engines displacing up to 8.0L.
Go Natural CNG’s products are used in both aftermarket natural gas vehicle conversions and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) natural gas cars. “Like our other products, the FIM offers the technical solutions that our customers really need,” says Kjar. “We’re really excited to launch this product at the Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo coming up in Long Beach, CA.” Find Go Natural CNG on YouTube and LinkedIn.
