The new facility will allow us to continue scaling hosting operations smoothly without the performance issues that plague many hosting companies during periods of rapid growth.
Southfield, MI (PRWEB) April 30, 2014
Nexcess, a leading provider of WordPress hosting, Magento eCommerce hosting, and a Magento Platinum Hosting Partner, has announced the opening of a brand new 16,000-square-foot data center facility in Southfield, Michigan. The new data center will augment the company’s existing US facility in Dearborn, Michigan and its locations in the UK and Australia.
Because of its popular Magento, WordPress, and ExpressionEngine hosting, and its expertise in providing high-performance hosting for eCommerce, Nexcess has a rapidly growing client-base. The company was recently ranked one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in America as part of the Deloitte Fast 500.
The new facility is divided into office space and a 12,000-square-foot space dedicated to data center operations. The Southfield site has access to nearly 3 megawatts of power distributed by redundant Liebert power distribution units fed by a dual Liebert UPS system. The power infrastructure also includes a pair of 750 kilowatt generators with a redundant backup. Each data center room is equipped with redundant Liebert dry cooling units.
“The new facility will allow us to continue scaling hosting operations smoothly without the performance issues that plague many hosting companies during periods of rapid growth,” commented Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess. “We’re proud of our ability to provide unbeatable levels of performance and uptime to a demanding client base; with the new Southfield data center, we can continue that tradition of service as we grow.”
As a specialist eCommerce hosting company, Nexcess’ clients expect consistently high performance and availability. The company has leveraged its close relationship with Magento and its own intimate knowledge of the Magento eCommerce application to create a highly optimized platform capable of supporting eCommerce retailers ranging from small boutique outlets to large high-traffic online stores requiring multi-server clusters. Nexcess also brings the same level of dedication and attention to detail to its WordPress and ExpressionEngine hosting platforms.
As the Southfield data center comes online, Nexcess is well positioned to strengthen its growing dominance of the eCommerce hosting market.
