Minnesota Independent Cooperative Inc. (MICOOP) Joins the 2014 Minnesota AIDS Walk for the Second Year in a Row
Eagan, MN (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- Minnesota Independent Cooperative Inc. will, for the second time in a row, be the Title-Sponsor of the 2014 MN AIDS Walk.
MICOOP has generously donated an impressive $75,000 to the organization over the last two years on top of the countless hours donated by the employees during the events. MICOOP is additionally challenging its current customers to donate, matching their donations dollar-for-dollar up to an additional $10,000.
The upcoming event is the 28th annual ‘Minnesota AIDS Walk’ - organizers are aiming to surpass last year’s donation by raising more than $450,000. All of the proceeds collected from the event will benefit the Minnesota AIDS Project a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency. The organization helps lead Minnesota’s fight to stop HIV through prevention, advocacy, awareness and services; they ultimately envision a Minnesota where new HIV infections are eliminated and those living with HIV live long, healthy lives.

The 2014 Walk will be held in Minnehaha Park, Minneapolis on Sunday, May 18th, 2014. Beginning at 8AM, the day-long event will include an opening ceremony, free HIV testing for registered participants, and lots of entertainments with the focus of raising funds. The route is 6.2 miles following the Mississippi River, taking roughly 2.5 hours to complete. There is no registration fee or fundraising requirement but anyone who raises $50 gets an AIDS Walk T-shirt!
