Maryville, IL (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- The story first started when Chris Bohnemeier, a BBQ enthusiast and grill master teamed up with his friend Mike Radosevich, a police officer of 12 plus years to create a BBQ competition team. Their award-winning seasonings were so popular that they sought out a manufacturer to replicate their special blends. As a result, Code 3 Spices was born.
Chris and Mike not only share their passion for great BBQ, they also share their passion for the men and women who serve as first responders and in the military services. Chris's father served in a private sector of law enforcement and his sister currently is a law enforcement officer in the Midwest. They have seen firsthand what first responders and the military contribute to all of us and decided they needed to give back through their own passion.
Code 3 Spices wanted to support three organizations. The first is Backstoppers, an organization located in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area that provides financial assistance and support to fallen police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics or EMT's and their families. The second is Safe Call Now, a confidential, comprehensive, 24-hour crisis referral service for all public safety employees, all emergency services personnel and their family members nationwide. The spices are even named with these organizations in mind: Rescue Rub, 5-O Rub, Backdraft Rub, Grunt Rub and Sea Dog Rub.
Code 3 Spices is proud to announce its third partner, Operation Homefront. A national nonprofit, Operation Homefront leads more than 2,500 volunteers with a nationwide presence that provides emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. Operation Homefront has provided assistance to thousands of military families since its inception in 2002. Recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity watchdog groups nationally, 93 percent of total donations to Operation Homefront go directly to programs that provide support to our military families.
“We vetted many charities before choosing Operation Homefront," said Code 3's Founder, Chris Bohnemeier. "Operation Homefront was the most transparent charity we found where you know exactly where every dollar goes. Landing them as an organization that we could give support to was very special to us."
Equally, Operation Homefront seeks companies that are transparent and hold themselves to the highest standards. Operation Homefront vetted Code 3 Spices as well. The collaboration is a perfect combination.
For every Code 3 Spices purchase made, $.50 of each bottle purchased between 3/1/14 and 3/1/15 will be divided equally among these three nonprofit organizations: Backstoppers, Safe Call and Operation Homefront.
