Vector Media Group Joins Digital Agencies in Flatiron District
New York, New York (PRWEB) May 05, 2014 -- Following the likes of tech incubator General Assembly, e-comm giant Gilt Group, and agency powerhouse Grey, full-service digital agency Vector Media Group is making the move to the Flatiron District. The team is well positioned for the expansion after achieving its biggest year to date. This includes being named to the 2013 “Inc. 5000,” Inc. magazine’s annual report of the fastest-growing private companies in America. And while the 10-block move from East 11th Street in Union Square may seem minor, the change will be dramatic.
Effective April 2014, Vector Media Group will reside at 18 West 21st Street.
The new space was recently renovated in 2013 and has undergone a full build-out. So when the team moves in, the new full floor, 5,000 SF space will be sundrenched with 12” ceilings. This all makes it perfectly suited for Vector Media Group’s web developers and online marketing strategists.
There’s a reason this neighborhood was called Silicon Alley. “It’s at the cross-section of the tech world downtown and the 5th-Avenue agencies uptown. As a company that bridges both worlds, Vector Media Group will help be a part of the neighborhood’s evolution for the next 5+ years,” says Co-Founder Matt Weinberg.
Vector’s real estate broker Jack Cohen of Skylight Leasing agreed. “Vector Media Group was looking for a space that would reflect their brand and provide an inspiring and productive environment for their team. We found a great partner at 18 West 21st Street,” said Cohen. Having originally identified a smaller partial floor space in another building in the same landlord’s portfolio, when Vector’s team sat down to finalize terms, the Landlord’s brokerage team, Doug Rice and Elissa Groh of Rice & Associates, identified Vector Media’s growth and ambitions and had the larger 8th-floor space on the market at $53 per SF. The teams were able to negotiate a staged rental arrangement allowing Vector Media to secure the full floor and provide for a growing tenant in the digital world that would be a perfect fit for neighboring creative, tech and media businesses.
An increasingly digital district
Aligned with the direction Rice & Associates took, the Flatiron Business Improvement District’s 2013 Annual Report noted: “The tech sector and creative businesses continue to populate the area… businesses ranging in size from tiny one or two-man shops to industry leaders with over 1,500 employees that see the value in the commercial office market here.” With this trend in place, Vector Media Group is a critical addition to the community.
