Neptune Benson to Supply Kalahari’s Newest Waterpark With State of the Art Aquatic Filtration and Disinfection Systems
Coventry, RI (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- Neptune Benson, a leading manufacturer of commercial pool filtration systems, UV disinfection systems, and aquatics components, is proud to be chosen to treat the water for the Kalahari’s latest state of the art resort located in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania.
The Kalahari Poconos resort will span 150 acres with an eighteen hole golf course, spa, pools, convention and meeting facilities as well as a 100,000 square foot indoor waterpark- and that is just Phase 1. When complete at 200,000 square feet, this park is sure to be one of the largest indoor waterparks in the country. With this much water, water safety becomes paramount. Kalahari prides itself on their water quality and safety for its patrons.
“For Kalahari one of the most important requirements for our waterparks is water quality, a close second is cost savings,” says Todd Nelson, President of Kalahari Resorts. “Neptune Benson products consistently produce the cleanest and safest water available while saving a considerable amount of water for the park and the environment”.
The award-winning Defender® Regenerative media filter removes particles down to 1 micron or less. When teamed up with the Neptune Benson ETS-Ultraviolet Disinfection system, water quality reaches a whole new level of cleanliness. In addition, the ETS-UV also reduces chloramines which often produce that unpleasant chlorine smell in the air of many facilities.
For any installation of this size, water savings are a huge consideration; it is crucial to use a water saving device. The Defender® Regenerative Media Filter eliminates over 90% of the backwash water associated with sand filter operation. The dramatic reduction of backwash waste directly translates to savings in chemicals and fuels for reheating associated with make-up water.
Neptune Benson Defender® was chosen for water quality as well as sustainability. By using Defender® there is 90% less water and waste, 30% less fuel and chemicals used, 75% smaller footprint as well as 50% reduction in electricity.
Kalahari’s Poconos location will open in 2015.
