According to the National Retail Foundation’s 2014 Mother’s Day survey, 43.3% of people will be giving a gift card this Mother’s Day, with total spending on Mother’s Day gift cards expected to reach $2.1 billion. Both numbers are higher than last year.

The CardCash.com poll found many other gift cards to be quite popular, including Starbucks gift cards, Best Buy gift cards and Kohl’s gift cards. And that goes to show that the most popular gift card isn’t for everyone. “If you know mom loves her daily coffee fix in Starbucks or shopping for crafts in Michael’s, in all likelihood those gift cards will be more appreciated and are a better way to express how much you love mom”, says Levi.
