Global Airport Parking Partners with Raising Raiders to Promote 50 States In 30 Days
(PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- Global Airport Parking has partnered with Raising Raiders, a family focused military charity, to promote “50 States In 30 Days”. Raising Raiders director, Olympia Flaherty Yarger will tour the continental US in her smart-car to speak with veterans of all ages and those who care for them. Her goal is to raise awareness for people who care for veterans and the resources that are available to them. She will then fly to Hawaii and Alaska to complete the journey, traveling over 13,000 miles in just 30 days. Upon completion a documentary film will be made to shed light on the current, and often grim, state of living conditions for many of these retired service members and the loved ones who are left caring for them.
Raising Raiders was founded by Marine Special Operation Command (MARSOC) spouses to provide varying kinds of support and resources to military families, with a focus on a particularly difficult time, the time of deployment. As a non-profit organization, Raising Raiders provides educational resources, counseling and fundraising for military personnel, their families, and caregivers. Raising Raiders aims to create unity and resiliency among military families, while spreading awareness and developing solutions for many issues that affect veterans and their families.
In addition to making its own financial contribution, Global Airport Parking will be sponsoring the event by donating money for gas to get Olympia around the country. The airport parking reservations website will also be extending the opportunity to its customers. Global’s weekly email is sent out to over 400,000 subscribers and will be detailing the project and giving everyone the opportunity to contribute and be a part of Olympia’s journey. Global Airport Parking currently works with Operation Gratitude and Our Military Kids to help support men and women overseas, and is using these partnerships to provide further exposure to 50 States In 30 Days. GAP is also leveraging its social media presence to offer people the opportunity to learn more and get involved. Most notably, a military specific discount code will be made available for those in need of a parking reservation.
