Cherokee Nation Healthcare Services Improves Patient Care for US Troops Through Teleradiology
Tulsa, Okla. (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- Cherokee Nation Healthcare Services, a division of Cherokee Nation Businesses, has been awarded a four-year, $1.3 million contract to provide teleradiology services for Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colo.
“America’s health care industry is changing at an incredible pace, and our CNB health care division strives to remain a national leader,” said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker. “By utilizing today’s technology and our highly skilled workforce, we are helping ensure American soldiers and their families have access to the services they rightly deserve.”
Teleradiology improves patient care by allowing radiologists to treat patients without the need of being at the same location.
CNHS provides after-hours radiology consultations seven days a week and 24-hour coverage on weekends and federal holidays. The company interprets film, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs and nuclear med studies. Diagnoses are provided within one hour, and final reports are transmitted to physicians within 24 hours.
“Technology is a powerful thing, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing it applied to health care for our troops,” said Steven Bilby, president of CNB’s diversified businesses. “The use of teleradiology can save lives, and we are honored to be part of that advancement.”
Evans Army Community Hospital is part of the Fort Carson U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, a premier system of health providing services to more than 72,000 soldiers, family members and retirees in the Front Range.
