KENT Systems Announces a New 3/8" Barbed Fitment to Complement Media Bags
Loveland, CO (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- KENT Systems announces a new barbed fitment that complements their media bags. This fitment is an ideal solution for a tube port fitment, as well as the perfect alternative to quick coupling fitments and a direct bonded tube.
“Some of our customers are looking to extract all of the liquid from a media bag in one shot,” said Lyle Sampson, COO of KENT Systems. “Our new barbed fitments are a great way to accomplish this goal in an inexpensive manner without sacrificing any quality.”
When bonding a tube directly into a media bag, the film lays over the top of the tube, but then it is forced to make a tight turn when it meets up with the film on the other side of the tube. This sharp turn is prone to failure as a result of this tight turn and the stresses imposed upon the film to make such a turn. In contrast, the diamond shape of the KENT Systems fitment connects to the bag in a way that reduces the interfacing stress, making a better seal and reducing failures.
The new KENT Systems barb fitment is sealed into the edge of a media bag and allows the user to connect a tube directly to the bag using one of KENT Systems standard-style barbs. This allows the user to use a larger variety of tubing materials, rather than being limited to only materials that will bond to the film of the media bag.
The standard fitment is made of polypropylene and polyethylene. In addition, it can be made from a variety of custom material and color to fit a number of special needs. This fitment is the first in a new collection of barbed fitments. In the coming year, KENT Systems will also feature 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch barbed fitments.
