Melwood Adopts Intelex Software to Improve Employee Health and Safety
Toronto (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- Intelex is thrilled to announce Melwood has joined its growing roster of clients in the nonprofit sector. Melwood, a nonprofit based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, provides job opportunities and supportive services for people with disabilities and will be using Intelex’s Incident Management and Training Documentation to manage employee training programs and incidents at different locations.
With more than 750 people with disabilities, working at over 43 contract sites across the greater Washington, DC area, training efforts play a crucial role in the safety and success of Melwood’s employees. Managing training programs for such a large number of individuals became difficult for Melwood, who had yet to implement a formal training management process. By adopting Intelex’s Training software, Melwood now has complete visibility into training performance and metrics and can grow their training programs.
“Most nonprofits aren’t investing in this technology,” said Jermaine Hunter, Vice President of Safety and Risk Management at Melwood. “Melwood is investing in efficiency, and the safety and health of our employees. Providing top quality training for our employees ensures they gain the right skills to be both successful and safe in their positions in the workplace.”
Melwood’s employees rely on a fleet of company vehicles on a daily basis. To help govern such a large company fleet, Melwood required a centralized incident management system to manage vehicular accidents and provide root cause analysis. With Intelex’s Incident Management System, Melwood can track, monitor and assess incidents from a centralized location, while making use of hazard analysis.
Over the many years in business, Melwood has been continually committed to employee training and development. Melwood has recently implemented a special training program called “The Job Development Program”, a 12-week training course designed to assist people with differing abilities in achieving their career goals through specialized job training. Since its founding in 1963, Melwood has expanded its services to include job opportunities, rehabilitative therapy and life skill supports for the growing number of veterans with differing abilities.
“We’re excited to be working with an organization that not only shares Intelex’s deep commitment to safety excellence, but also provides such a great service,” said Intelex President and CEO Mark Jaine. “We look forward to helping Melwood protect their employees and grow their initiatives with more efficient training and incident management systems.”
