Today, May 1, Harris Teeter will launch a donation card campaign to support both the USO and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), two organizations committed to supporting our troops and their families.

During the month of May, Harris Teeter customers at every Harris Teeter location will be able to make $1, $3 or $5 donations to Support Our Troops at checkout. Similar community-based donation card campaigns hosted by Harris Teeter have raised more than $500,000 in a given month; the first annual Support Our Troops campaign raised over $587,000.

For more than 70 years, the USO has supported America’s troops and families not only during times of conflict, but also as they heal from both visible and invisible wounds of war and reintegrate into their communities and civilian workforce.

Wounded Warrior Project is committed to honoring and empowering Wounded Warriors for a lifetime. By continuously being innovative and understanding the needs of warriors and their families, WWP looks to fostering the most successful, well-adjusted generation of injured service members in our nations history.

There are many ways to help raise awareness for the work of both the USO and WWP. Please consider contributing financially and your Harris Teeter or raising awareness for the organizations on your social media pages.

About the USO

The USO lifts the spirits of America’s troops and their families millions of times each year at hundreds of places worldwide. We provide a touch of home through centers at airports and military bases in the U.S. and abroad, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and services. We also provide critical support to those who need us most, including forward-deployed troops, military families, wounded warriors, troops in transition and families of the fallen. The USO is a private, non-profit organization, not a government agency. Our programs and services are made possible by the American people, support of our corporate partners and the dedication of our volunteers and staff.

In addition to individual donors and corporate sponsors, the USO is supported by President’s Circle Partners: American Airlines, AT&T, BNSF Railway, The Coca-Cola Company, Grand Canyon University, JCPenney, Jeep, Johnson & Johnson, Kroger, Northrop Grumman Corporation and TriWest Healthcare Alliance and Worldwide Strategic Partners: BAE Systems, BIC, The Boeing Company, ConAgra Foods, FedEx, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft Corporation, Procter & Gamble, TKS Telepost Kabel-Service Kaiserslautern GmbH & Co. KG and Wawa Inc. We are also supported through the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC-11381). To join us in this patriotic mission, and to learn more about the USO, please visit uso.org.
