Easter Seals Day Solutions Spring Picnic
Lake Blackshear, Georgia (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- Friday, April 25th was an exciting day for the individuals in the four Easter Seals Southern Georgia Day Solutions programs throughout south west Georgia. Fifty people traveled from Vienna, Tifton, Cordele, and Albany where they gathered at Veterans Memorial State Park at Lake Blackshear for the quarterly picnic and fun day.
“It’s wonderful to be able to get together and visit with everyone, especially since we only get to see each other every few months,” said Day Solutions Director Julie Hall. “Some of the individuals have friends in other Day Solutions programs; this is the only time they get to see those friends.”
Smoakies Bar-B-Que in Cordele provided the food for the event and First Franklin Church donated the scrumptious desserts. Outside picnic games like egg races, sack races, three-legged race were enjoyed by all, as well as, uplifting music and fellowship. Some people fished, some visited, and some just enjoyed the beautiful day outside.
The group is in need of volunteers to help serve food, organize games, and donate food and items for the quarterly picnics. If you or your group are interested in volunteering or donating food or item, contact Julie Hall at 229-439-7061.
