Balanced Scorecard Institute Recognizes Liebherr Mining Equipment Co. and SmithGroupJJR with 2014 Award for Excellence

The Balanced Scorecard Institute named Liebherr Mining Equipment Co. (LME) and SmithGroupJJR as winners of the 2014 Award for Excellence. The award recognizes outstanding organizational performance in strategy management and execution due to strong commitment to strategy management, engaged leadership, performance analysis and continuous improvement.

The Balanced Scorecard presented the awards on March 31, 2014, at the Balanced Scorecard Institute/Spider Strategies Users Conference at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Created in 2007, The Award for Excellence is awarded to organizations that have demonstrated break-through results based on performance management excellence criteria, including executive leadership, strategy development and communication clarity, organization alignment to a shared vision of the future, strategic resource allocation, performance reporting and communication, breakthrough results and sustainability. Both companies achieved the award for having developed and deployed a comprehensive strategic planning and management system that provides a framework for profound transformation and change.

Present to accept the award for LME was Cherie Cooke, Executive Vice President and Maximilian Roessler, Management Analyst. Accepting on behalf of SmithGroupJJR was Mike Medici, Senior Vice President and member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Attendees of BSI’s annual conference included practitioners of the balanced scorecard framework and Spider Strategies software, as well as government officials, not-for-profit organizations, and representatives from business and industry.
