The Salt Lake Community College Fashion Institute is holding its annual Raw Couture fashion show, this year titled “Facade - Shadows of Illusion,” May 2, 2014, 6 p.m. at the Union Pacific Depot’s Grand Hall, 400 West South Temple, Salt Lake City.
This visually exciting, creatively inspiring event will feature 12 student-designers, local performers and a theatrical show created by the production class at SLCC Fashion Institute. Each designer will be presenting 10 looks, making this year’s show the largest fashion show in the history of the program.
"The production students wanted to capture the essence of each designer aesthetic by traveling through magical realms of a fantastical world,” said Heidi M. Gress, production class instructor at SLCC. “Each show will have a unique approach to the designers’ individual styles. It will be an event unlike any other.”
The colorful runway show will have designs by Loralee North, Talissa Meza, Stefanie Holbrook, Robyn Hagen, Brittany Barney, Coreena Freeman, Lisa Barnhill, Olga Assayah, Rachel Hayes, Davis Hong, Jillian McCormick, and Cherylene Sandusky Rosenvall. Each show is unique in style and context reflecting each designer’s creative vision.
Hair and makeup will be provided by the Aveda Institute Provo, led by educational director Heggy Gonzalez. Tickets are $25 (regular) and $15 (students) and can be purchased at 24tix.com.
