World-renowned Leg Vein Specialist and Cosmetic Dermatologist Dr. Robert A. Weiss is Joining The Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 05, 2014 -- The Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York is pleased to announce that world-renowned leg vein specialist and cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Robert A. Weiss, will be joining its team of leading dermatologists.
Dr. Weiss’ interest and teaching activity in venous disease and dermatologic surgery led to his election to the Board of Directors and Presidency of the American College of Phlebology. He has served several terms on the ASDS Board and is a past President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery and is currently the President-Elect of ASLMS. Dr. Weiss has provided dermatology surgery board questions as a past member of the Test Committee for the American Board of Dermatology. He has lectured and been visiting professor at many institutions such as Harvard University and Yale University. Dr. Weiss practices cosmetic dermatology at the Maryland Laser, Skin, and Vein Institute, where numerous clinical trials on new lasers and pharmaceuticals are conducted. He has conducted trials on numerous vascular lasers, photodynamic therapy, low level LED therapy, varicose vein treatments, as well as dozens of medical and anti-aging lasers and treatments. He also is a pioneer in the development of autologous cell treatment and was a chief principle investigator for LaViv™ autologous fibroblast treatment for improvement of wrinkles and scars.

Dr. Weiss was board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology in 1983, and is a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Phlebology, and member of the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. He has also served on numerous committees of the ASDS, AAD, ACP and ASLMS. Since 1993, Dr. Weiss has served as Associate or Contributing Editor for the journal Dermatologic Surgery. He also serves on the Editorial Board for Lasers in Surgery and Medicine. Dr. Weiss is the author of over 200 publications, including dozens of textbook chapters and six textbooks. He has been an invited speaker for hundreds of worldwide scientific presentations. Dr. Weiss’ present research consists of evaluations of various lasers and light sources for the treatment of photoaging, vascular lesions and pigmented lesions, and fillers and botulinum toxins. He has helped to develop new methods of non-invasive varicose vein treatments, lasers for blood vessels and initiated new methods of reversing photoaging by lasers and light sources in addition to further investigation into autologous cell therapy for skin textural improvement.
Dr. Geronemus is well-known for his work in laser treatments and research. His practice, the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, specializes in Botox, Fractional Laser Resurfacing, CoolSculpting, Tattoo Removal, Port Wine Stain Treatments, and Injectable Fillers.
