AFPM Responds to DOE’s Regional Refined Petroleum Product Reserve
WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President Charles T. Drevna issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Energy’s decision to create a regional gasoline reserve in response to Superstorm Sandy:
“AFPM supports a 21st century energy infrastructure and is encouraged that the Administration realizes that gasoline and diesel are basic and life-saving necessities, especially in times of natural disasters. Since the decision, however, was made with no input from the industry, we question whether due consideration was given to how the gasoline reserve will be filled, managed, and dispersed. Moving forward, we ask that the Department of Energy work with the industry as it implements this plan to address market and logistical issues to ensure that the gasoline reserve does not result in unintended or counterproductive consequences.”
