Tom Sawyer Software Releases Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, .NET Edition
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- Tom Sawyer Software, the premier provider of software for building high-performance data relationship visualization and analysis applications, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, .NET Edition.
This new .NET release introduces pure .NET server components with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) support, and HTML5 and Image Map web views that support Drawing, Map, Table, Tree, and Inspector views.
Brendan Madden, Chief Executive Officer of Tom Sawyer Software, said, "With this release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, .NET Edition, we have added HTML5 and Image Map web views in the browser with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) support. We recognize that Microsoft has a very strong position in the enterprise, and Tom Sawyer Perspectives, .NET Edition will now meet the needs of many large enterprises by delivering excellent pure .NET web and desktop application support.”
In addition to web application support, this release also brings updates to desktop applications. There is a new SQL database integrator, and table views are now supported.
This release also provides protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), also referred to as a one-click attack or session riding. Customers who do not yet have CSRF protection can now download this release to protect Tom Sawyer Perspectives web components from attacks. These components include the Tom Sawyer Perspectives Previewer and all web application tutorials. For those who are integrating Tom Sawyer Perspectives into an application that already provides CSRF security, they can now ensure that Tom Sawyer Perspectives components will also integrate into their solution with CSRF protection.
This release also introduces a new patent-pending approach to the Overview panel that dynamically resizes to match the drawing bounds. This enables the Overview panel to take the minimum space required at all times to represent the drawing in the main canvas. This minimum size Overview panel reduces the likelihood that the Overview panel covers an important part of the drawing in the main canvas.
Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, includes new preferences for greater flexibility and choice for users. These preferences include the ability to adjust hover delay time, and settings to configure the link navigation speed. There is also a new expanded node interaction preference that makes it easier to perform drilldown actions and to perform collapse and expand operations.
Further updates include refined electrical one-line diagram layout, and performance enhancements for the hierarchical layout of disconnected graphs. All areas of the documentation have also been improved.
