Indie Feature Film SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP Screens in Competition On June 2, 2014 at Hoboken International Film Festival
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- Coming off its recent Best Feature win, independent film SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP screens at New York’s Hoboken International Film Festival on June 2, 2014 in the prime 6pm time slot. Tickets are available at: http://bit.ly/1pKnzwc
"Making an independent film is one of the hardest things I've ever done -- and I've got three kids -- so that's saying something," laughs director Malindi Fickle. "To be recognized by Hoboken -- a festival dedicated to showcasing and promoting fine non-studio films is a tremendous honor. These people get it. They understand the obstacles, dedication and passion required to get an independent story out there. They know what it means to sacrifice virtually everything in your life because you have a story you have to tell. And that's why we're coming to Hoboken. To be part of this great celebration of the independent voice. And to thank these people in person for letting us be part of it."
SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP was shot on location in Fortville and Indianapolis, Indiana. The ensemble cast depicts this emotionally raw story: Drug addition’s collateral damage is laid bare when a former honor student, newly addicted to prescription pills, triggers a fast-moving chain of events that devastates her friends and threatens to tear her family part.
The Director, Producers and many of the cast will be attending local events and available for media interviews.
The competition screening is at The Historic Paramount Theater (17 South St, Middletown, NY 10940) at 6:00pm on Monday June 2, 2014.
