Marilyn Monroe Returns to Life via Art Restoration!
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2014 -- Restoration-by-Heart.com, a Los Angeles Art Restoration and Conservation business has pulled off another miracle. A classic Andy Warhol serigraph of Marilyn Monroe that had been put away in an attic for over 30 years was rediscovered by a strange twist of fate.
A lucky individual had inherited a classic Warhol Marilyn Monroe serigraph. He put the piece in the attic and didn’t give it a second thought for over thirty years. That’s when a visit to a museum and a conversation with the curator reminded him the Warhol was in the attic and that in the thirty years the value of the serigraph had reached the point that it was worth almost as much as his old house where the serigraph was stored.
He returned home to recover the treasure, but when he opened the tube where he had placed the Warhol; instead of finding a treasure he encountered a disaster. Humidity in the attic had caused acid and mold to inhibit the artwork. Additionally, because the artwork was rolled and placed in a tube, there were now pronounced cracks in the paint.
Our lucky friend then proceeded to search for the perfect art restoration business to restore his damaged art. He happened upon an article in the Los Angeles Times about miracles being performed by a restoration site with works on paper. They were able to take pieces that were disasters and turn them back into perfection. This company is RestorationByHeart.com.
The Warhol then began the tedious process of cleaning, de-acidifying, filling in the cracks, returning the paper to its original color and flattening the piece. It took over nine weeks to fully restore the Marilyn serigraph to a like-new state. Mr. Rod Hewitt, the business manager of Restoration By Heart says, “We have two speeds, slow and very slow. Everything in our studio is treated with great care, nothing is ever rushed.”
So, the disaster was averted and the Warhol serigraph of Marilyn Monroe is in the condition where none of the value has diminished and the future worth is insured by the revived condition. Do you have classic or fine art work you think may be ruined; contact us before doing anything drastic.
RestorationByHeart.com (866-635-8516) and the head restorer, Gustavo Perez, restore more works by Andy Warhol than anyone in the world.
