Chicago-based Hybrent, Inc. has created a new app to help hospitals improve the management and control of medical supplies used by clinical staff. The new GOO mobile ordering application provides an easy-to-use interface for all supply chain systems and inventory.

Twenty-one year veteran of the hospital supply chain, Harold Richards, witnessed the problems with hospital supply organization every single day. As an administrator, he was responsible for finding more than $50 million dollars to save in numerous hospitals. After exhausting all efforts in working with trading partners, Harold drew a line in the sand and started taking action on his own accord to solve this problem. Hybrent aims to disrupt and change the way supply chain and clinical teams communicate with one another.
From a supply chain perspective, the way a hospital operates is very complicated. In fact, there are so many moving pieces and steps that must happen in order for a patient to receive supplies necessary for treatment. “A lot of waste occurs within the system, which impacts the delivery of care and, ultimately, patient satisfaction,” said Tighe. “Nurses spend 20 percent of their day ordering, searching, and tracking down medical supplies.”
Hybrent’s GOO platform intuitively combines the workflows of both the supply chain and the clinical teams to create a frictionless process. Ingalls Hospital, a founding customer of Hybrent, immediately understood these issues deeply and invested in the program.
