Metrix Medical, a nationally recognized healthcare billing and revenue cycle management company in South Florida, has now completed the implementation of a new division to its suite of services. For over 30 years Metrix has been helping medical practices and hospital groups expedite their medical claims reimbursement while decreasing their costs in the recovery of unpaid claims. "Most of our Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery clients were handling their own communication with the law offices on their auto accident cases," said Reed Smith, National Development Coordinator with Metrix. "This has been extremely cumbersome for our clients practices, so we decided to take on the workload so they could get back to caring for patients," he added.
As part of this new service, Metrix Medical now takes on all of the responsibilities normally handled by the back-office of a medical practice during the legal settlement of a car accident or other injury claim. Most attorneys require constant contact and updates from the surgeons that are operating on their clients. Many times the surgeons are not compensated up-front for their services and are forced to wait for a settlement offer, which can be as long as 18 months. Amy Zisholtz, practice manager for a South Florida orthopedic group says, "Metrix Medical has created so much additional staff time for us that we are now able to see almost twice as many patients as before."
