Operator LLC Brings "The Operator Challenge" to Tampa, May 18
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- On Sunday, May 18th Operator LLC will host the Operator Challenge at the Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee's Firearms Training Center at 14063 County Road 39 South, Lithia FL (Walter C. Heinrich Practical Training Center). The event will consist of a multi-stage stress shooting and physical fitness competition amongst former US Special Operations Forces (SOF) Operators and International SOF Operators from the nations that have been invited to attend this year’s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) in Tampa.
“This will be a great event and competition of skill, endurance and focus, bringing together the best participants to compete for top tier prizes and a year’s worth of bragging rights,” said Scott Neil, a 25 year SOF veteran with the legendary U.S. Army Green Berets, CEO and founder of the Tampa-based Operator LLC.
There will also be a popular Shooting With SOF event at the same range as the Operator Challenge that allows select non-DoD and civilian teams to compete for prizes and shoot the various weapons systems that Special Operations Forces, known as "Operators" use in combat.
The Operator Challenge will take place the weekend prior to the annual SOFIC that attracts International SOF commanders and Operators from around the globe.
The Operator Challenge and Shooting With SOF event is open to the public as spectators. Manufacturers, vendors and sponsors will display and demonstrate their SOF weapons, equipment and services at the range.
On Tuesday May 20th, the Operator Challenge Host Committee will host a SOF charity fundraiser, social and awards ceremony at the SS American Victory ship in downtown Tampa. The fundraiser includes food, drinks and live entertainment. A silent auction and raffle will take place prior to the awards ceremony for Sunday's Operator Challenge. The fundraising event will benefit the Green Beret Foundation, the Global Special Operation Forces Foundation and the Navy SEAL Foundation.
