American Idol Finalist 2014 Malaya Watson Guest at Bloom Event
Southfield, MI (PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- Southfield’s Malaya Watson will be one of the featured guest at the 2014 Bloom conference on Saturday, May 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Family Victory Fellowship, 19421 W. Ten Mile Road. Other guests will include Gail Perry Mason, financial guru, and Loren Jordan, fashion designer and CEO of Michigan Fashion Week.
Launched in 2007 by Southfield Councilwoman Sylvia Jordan, the Bloom event was created to help girls “bloom” in their life and live the best life possible. This year’s theme is: It’s All About the Books and the Looks, focuses on education, college, and looking good on the inside and out. The goals for the day are to empower the participants to live a successful lifestyle, enlighten their minds, and equip them with ability to strive for success. In addition, the conference will focus on improving the mother-daughter bond, a critical support necessary for girls as they transition into womanhood. Providence Hospital is one of the sponsors.

WHAT: This all day event features workshops and classes on a range of topics geared to provide teen girls with the practical tools to navigate life, accomplish their dreams and step into their future. Workshops topics include:
- Boy Drama: dating and relationships
- It’s Rehearsal Time: college prep
- Go Hollywood: fashion
Other activities include a fashion show, a hip-hop artist, a balloon release, gifts and giveaways, pictures, breakfast and lunch. The cost for the event is $25 per girl and $25 for adults.
