“Reclaimed wood has a lot of distinctions. Its vast character is why people find it so appealing. The rustic look and feel is something that cannot be replicated via mass production or new material."

Carbondale, Colorado (PRWEB) May 08, 2014

Distinguished Boards and Beams (DBB), the premier provider of reclaimed wood in Colorado, is proud to announce its new website http://www.reclaimedbarnwood.com. The site offers advice on where to find reused wood, how to incorporate recycled wood into any plan, information on DBB’s flooring options as well as a photo gallery of existing inventory and finished projects.

CEO Robbie Williams, founded the company in 2005. Located in Carbondale, Colorado, Distinguished Boards and Beams has been blessed with a successful word of mouth marketing campaign. As the list of clients has grown, the business has expanded organically to satisfy a wide variety of client requests. “The website launch is the next logical step in evolving our business. It provides a place to share our expertise with others, with a focus on how we source the wood and craft it to meet our clients’ expectations,” says Williams.

The new website not only provides information on the Distinguished Boards and Beams business, but it also offers general information on the topic of reused woods. Included are articles such as, “What is Reclaimed Wood?” and “How and Where to Source and Obtain Reclaimed Wood”.

DBB sources the majority of its wood from various places throughout the United States and Canada. Large antique barns, warehouses, and old factories provide the bulk of the inventory available at Distinguished Boards and Beam’s facility. All wood is selected by a DBB representative before being shipped to our facility in Colorado. “Reclaimed wood has a lot of distinctions. Its vast character is why people find it so appealing. The rustic look and feel is something that cannot be replicated via mass production or new material. We take every precaution to ensure that all our products are in the best possible condition for any application,” says Williams.

The website also offers information on flooring selection, siding and timber usage. Flooring created from reused wood is generally offered in pine, douglas fir, oak and mixed hardwood options. The barn siding comes in a variety of colors including faded red, weathered gray and varied shades of brown. Antique hand hewn timbers are generally available in oak and pine options.

The photo gallery page is filled with examples of fantastic applications for recycled wood. Not only will you see up close pictures of current inventory, there are also images of the finished products in all manner of projects. With designs for mantle pieces, shelves, entryway siding, floors, accent timbers and more, there are limitless applications for reclaimed wood.

In order to meet the needs of customers in the arid West, Distinguished Boards and Beams operates two kiln drying units. When material moves from a humid to a dry climate, original moisture content becomes a concern. When the moisture held in the material evaporates, material originally installed with tight joints can shrink creating small but noticeable gaps between boards. DBB’s solution to avoiding these gaps is to kiln dry material on site in Carbondale. The kiln drying process eliminates shrinkage concerns as it reduces the moisture content in the material. Employing meticulous operating procedures and modern mill capabilities enables DBB to provide material to the customer’s desired effect while maintaining its original charm and appeal. According to Williams, “The mission of Distinguished Boards and Beams, is to consistently deliver superior reclaimed wood products to our clients, within their expected time frame and budget.”

Reclaimedbarnwood.com offers complimentary quotes for any size project. Clients are encouraged to stop by their facility at 698 Merril Avenue in Carbondale, Colorado to view the show room and tour the supply yard and milling operation.
