Deltek Selected by Fairfax Chamber As A Finalist for 2014 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for government contractors and professional services firms, announced today it has been selected by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (Fairfax Chamber) as a finalist for the 2014 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards. Finalists were selected from a competitive field of applicants across eight categories that recognize extraordinary business leadership and above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility. Deltek was selected as a finalist in the sustainability category for its commitment to minimizing its impact on the environment and renovating its Herndon, Virginia Headquarters into a Silver LEED Certified building.
In 2014 the Fairfax Chamber received a record-breaking number of applications with an increase of nearly 20% from last year. Along with Deltek, other finalists in the Sustainability category include the Fairfax County Restoration Project, George Mason University, Volkswagen Group of America and Walker’s Grille. The category honors an organization for its environmental leadership and commitment to environmental excellence through outstanding and innovative sustainability practices.
“One of the most impressive achievements of the Northern Virginia business community is the many ways in which our businesses and leaders give back to the community where they live, work and play,” said Fairfax Chamber President & CEO Jim Corcoran. “This year’s finalists have made an impact and created a stronger community – they are all truly outstanding corporate citizens.”
“When we set out to design a new headquarters for Deltek, we focused on innovation, collaboration and sustainability. Our headquarters building is a perfect symbol of today’s Deltek – a collaborative, energetic, innovative, and sustainable gathering place for our employees that reflects our commitment to the community by minimizing our impact on the environment,” said Mike Corkery, president & CEO at Deltek. “We are honored to be named a finalist and congratulate the other companies for their sustainable efforts as well.”
The awards will be presented at the Fairfax Chamber Annual Chairman’s Luncheon on Tuesday, June 17 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.
