TAMKO Donates $100,000 to Red Cross for Baxter Springs and Quapaw Recovery Efforts
Joplin, MO (PRWEB) May 12, 2014 -- TAMKO Building Products, Inc. is donating $100,000 to the Ozark Chapter of the American Red Cross to help Baxter Springs, Kan. and Quapaw, Okla. recover from the April 27 tornadoes. David C. Humphreys, TAMKO president and CEO, will present the check to the Red Cross Ozark Chapter at 10 a.m. this morning.
“Baxter Springs and Quapaw supported the Joplin community after the 2011 tornado. We feel that the Joplin community should be equally supportive in their time of need,” said TAMKO President and CEO David C. Humphreys. “We would hope our gift would encourage others in Joplin to donate and support them in return.”
The Red Cross has already played a critical role in the relief effort from this disaster. The organization’s help is appreciated and TAMKO is pleased to be able to support their efforts.
“We are very grateful to TAMKO for their generosity to support disaster relief efforts in the communities affected by these recent tornadoes,” said Debi Meeds, CEO, American Red Cross Southern Missouri Region. “Because of the support from community partners like TAMKO, we are able to help these families on their road to disaster recovery.”
TAMKO has been part of the Joplin community for nearly 70 years since it was founded in Joplin in 1944.
