Pine Grove Introduces a New Addiction Recovery Program: Next Step Sober Living
Hattiesburg, Mississippi (PRWEB) May 12, 2014 -- Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services is proud to announce the inclusion of Next Step Sober Living to its comprehensive selection of world class patient care programs. Next Step Sober Living is designed for male patients, ages 18 and up, who have successfully completed a residential addiction treatment program and need a supportive transitional environment. It is a complement to Pine Grove’s Next Step healing program for men who are battling substance abuse issues.
The program is led by a veteran team of Pine Grove professionals including Next Step Sober Living’s Director, Issac Boose. He said, “Our intention is to help our patients further develop the tools they will need to live a sober lifestyle by providing them with a safe environment to practice recovery behaviors in a community of like-minded peers.”
Next Step Sober Living helps patients acclimate to a productive routine by attending school, working, or volunteering, while living at one of Pine Grove’s fully equipped cottages located on the facility’s main Hattiesburg campus. Patients participate in weekly group therapy sessions, meet individually with John Herrington, one of Pine Grove’s experienced and licensed therapists and attend regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Herrington compared the process of ongoing addiction recovery to a hiking challenge. He explained, “The therapeutic support that is offered through the Next Step Sober Living program serves as a guide, a map so to speak. We can’t hike it for them, but we can offer support and guidance along the way.”
Patients participating in Next Step Sober Living enjoy the benefits of the program for a minimum of three months and extended support is available. “Our program promotes individual responsibility in a therapeutic living environment that values honesty and accountability,” explained Vanessa Cox, Clinical Director of Next Step Sober Living. The program offers recovering addicts a cost effective transition to a life free from addiction.
