ALTRES Hits the Streets to Support PACT Keiki Day Fundraiser
Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- Employees of ALTRES, Hawaii's most experienced human resources and staffing organization continued their 21-year-long tradition of selling special edition Keiki Day newspapers to raise funds for Parents and Children Together (PACT) today.
On every Keiki Day since 1993, ALTRES employees have gathered at the corner of Kapiolani and Ward Avenues to sell newspapers and support PACT. The intersection is affectionately referred to as the “Bill Guss corner” in memory of ALTRES’ founder and devoted PACT advocate, Bill Guss.
“My father had a big heart,” said Barron Guss, president and CEO of ALTRES. “He championed strong family bonds and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of families here in Hawaii,” he added.
Norma Spierings, PACT’s Director of Fund Development and Community Relations said, “ALTRES has been a big part of the success of Keiki Day. For more than 20 years, they’ve been selling papers on the corner of Kapiolani and Ward. They truly give from the heart and we can’t thank them enough.”
To date, ALTRES has collected and donated more than $30,000 in newspaper sales, monetary donations, bake sales, and other activities organized by its employees.
