24 Seven Founder & CEO Recognized for Empowering Women in Business
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- Celeste Gudas, Founder and CEO of 24 Seven, a global talent management firm, was honored by The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) with one of the organization’s most prestigious awards, The Mary Lehman MacLachlan Economic Empowerment Award.
The eponymous memorial award pays tribute to one of the WPO’s founders and first financial supporters, Mary Lehman MacLachlan. She fervently believed that women should be able to take care of themselves financially, pursue their independence through business, and support other woman business leaders.
Marsha Firestone Ph.D., WPO President and Founder, explained in a WPO press release why Ms. Gudas was selected as this year’s honoree: “Celeste embodies the qualities of this award, including economic independence, running a financially-sound business, providing positive financial benefits for staff and supporting other business women in her community.”
“Launching, growing and leading a company while inspiring the careers of others are all incredibly rewarding experiences in and of themselves,” said Ms. Gudas, “But being recognized for these efforts by my exceptional WPO colleagues with a reward named after someone I profoundly respect just makes the entire journey even more meaningful.”
From the founding days of 24 Seven, Ms. Gudas has sought to create a company that not only is a thriving, dynamic organization, but also one that provides a professionally-nurturing, financially-rewarding workplace for women at every age and stage. Perennially on lists that identify the best companies for which to work, 24 Seven has a highly sought-after culture that offers exciting career paths coupled with competitive compensation and generous benefits, comprising traditional and soft perks (like professional development and recognition opportunities, holistic wellness programs, in-office massages, fitness program subsidies, and more).
As the company’s chief executive, Ms. Gudas is continually recognized by industry organizations and the media for her inspirational management and visionary leadership. A dedicated advocate for the empowerment of girls and women, Ms. Gudas enthusiastically supports a variety of female-focused charitable, mentoring and professional organizations. In addition to her Platinum & Zenith chapter membership in the WPO, Ms. Gudas has certified 24 Seven as a Women's Business Enterprise, and she is a member of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. Additionally, Ms. Gudas is a passionate promoter of overall workplace diversity, and is a sought-after speaker and member of organizations spearheading inclusion initiatives, such as ISM, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Human Resource Association of New York (HR/NY) and AAFA. Most recently, Ms. Gudas was appointed by New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg to serve on the city’s Workforce Investment Board.
