Freshservice today announced its availability for companies using Google Apps, making it the first cloud based service desk to launch in the new marketplace.

Freshservice was launched in January 2014 by Freshdesk Inc, a leading provider of customer support software, in a bid to take the boring out of IT support. The ITIL-ready (ITIL is a set of best practices for businesses to deliver outstanding service) solution comes with gamification features in built and is targeted at businesses in the mid market with a sizeable internal IT team. With just two months since launch, Freshservice has already crossed the hundred customers mark, and has added dozens of updates and new features on top of its core ITIL modules.

Today marks the SaaS solution as the first IT Service Desk in Google’s revamped marketplace. Google Apps plays a key role in IT for businesses across the world, and according to a 2014 report from the Cloud Alliance for Google Apps, more than a third of IT admins switch to the platform owing to its extensive support for third party apps. Businesses can now leverage the new integration to implement ITIL best practices in a single click from the redesigned Google Apps console.

“Since launching Freshservice earlier this year, we’ve been rolling out tons of new features to make the lives of IT admins easier” said Shihab Muhammed, Product Manager for Freshservice. “With the new Google Directory import, IT support personnel can quickly sync their employee information and get everyone on board the service desk in minutes.”

Freshservice is also available in the Chrome Web Store, and businesses can now use the app to access their service desk anytime from their browser.
