Bethlehem, Pa. (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- Active Data, a leading provider of web calendar software to create event communities, announced today Addison Mauck, a senior at Shrine High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, has won the inaugural Active Data scholarship. The scholarship, awarded to Mauck for her essay on the importance of being aware of campus events for a college student’s success, is worth $1,000.00.
“We are big believers in higher education and understand the financial challenges some students and their families face as they embark on a college career,” said Susan Yee, CEO of Active Data. “As our parents told us, college is the best time of our lives, and to take full advantage of their opportunities, students need to maximize their opportunities within the campus community.”
Mauck has been accepted to and will attend Loyola University, Chicago in the fall of 2014.
In her essay, Mauck described how she turned the courtyard at her high school into a community calendar. “You have to know what is going on around campus in order to become involved, and you have to become involved in order to be successful,” she wrote.
