Announcement: BluesGuitar.com releases Blues Guitar Lick in the Key of A - Pedal Steel Vibe
(PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- The Pedal Steel Guitar is built on legs and is played horizontally. The instrument is outfitted with pedals to bend the strings pitch and it is played with a guitar slide. The Pedal Steel Guitar is a staple in the sound of country music.
“We are working on a blues in the key of A and one of things were going to try and practice here today is pedal steel licks in a blues,” says MacLennan. Jon demonstrates the lick as follows; first bar your 4th finger across the 5th fret of the first and 2nd strings and 2nd finger on the 4th fret of the 3rd string and simultaneously pick all three strings and bend the 3rd string up one whole step, which will simulate the one chord which is A. Next Jon moves to the four chord which is D and he duplicates the same lick, except he moves it up so that the 4th finger is barring at the 10th fret and 3rd string at the 9th fret. And finally for the Five Chord Jon moves the sequence up one whole step. Jon continues this cool blues guitar lesson by demonstrating the lick over a backing track using a little extra reverb to capture the tone of the Pedal Steel Guitar. Guitar TAB’s are available for this blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
